It is with a start without a press and in the morning that the new adventure begins. After finalizing the loading of the motorcycle, the day before (yes, I cheated a little) for the vast majority, I slowly took the road towards Sorel.(https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLhtX0PAPsk/?igsh=YmZoeGowZjBrdnJ3)

Prête pour le départ

No surprise, this road that runs along the Richelieu is quite familiar to me and always offers a pleasant setting for driving. After Sorel, it's Nicolet's turn and then Trois Rivières' turn to parade before my eyes. It's then time to take a break after something like 3 hours on the handlebars and a buttock that no longer smells much.

So I take the opportunity to make a stop at the National Historic Site of Forges-du-Saint-Maurice. A superb little corner of heritage rich in history and super quiet. Besides, if you didn't know, this summer is the time to visit our national parks and other forts since the entrance is offered to us and, if you ever want to camp, 25% is waiting for you. (Free admission and discounted overnight stays with Parks Canada) I look like a representative, and well, our heritage amply deserves it.(https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLiC1bfAeRR/?igsh=NmxsZ21ieWZwdnR5)

This time, after eating an apple ("an apple a day keeps the doctor away forever" it seems) and a little tuna (because protein is important), I get back on the road. First Highway 55 then, about sixty kilometers away, I join 155. This road makes us pass one lane. And this is felt on the traffic practically up to La Tuque. I find myself in endless lines of cars that follow each other, stick me, double at any time. The double yellow lines are decoration, isn't it? But as soon as La Tuque has passed, I find a fluidity and people in a lot less of a hurry. It must be said that when I am on my journeys, I drive super zen and "compeasant". I respect the speed limits and I really take it relaxed.

So I cross the Mauricie park along the Matawin River. A beautiful succession of turns, ascents and descents pass under my wheels. The possibilities of stopping are slim and I hesitate to stop on the side of the road so as not to disturb other users.

I still make a stop to test a feature that could be very useful in the event of a disorder outside of any cellular connection. I'm talking about sending SMS by satellite as proposed by Apple in its 15 models by going up... Well, it works great! It may seem like an anecdote, but for a guy like me, always solo in the middle of nowhere, it could be super useful. At least, I know that in addition to my GPS beacon, I have a way to simply ask for CAA-type help!

After a few more hours of roads, my buttock asked me for a new break. So I landed in the road stop of the Norman parish priest. A traditionalist priest who opposed the Pope because he wanted (and of course continued) to celebrate Mass in Latin in a traditional way. And he won. Like what you learn things while traveling.

Pas le seul à voyager en solo

After 482 km and 6h21 of driving, I finally arrived in Roberval. As expected, I settled at the Roberval Motel, as long as I was original! Just before, I went to fill up the bike since it should rain a little tomorrow and as it is one of my 3 big stages (more than 640 kms), I will leave early!

When I tell you that my Africa Twin is a little economical beast that offers me a super large radius of action, well I did 3.9 liters per 100 kms. So I potentially have a range of 630 kms!!! If I add my 2.5 liter can, I'm approaching 700 kms! It is not stopable. There is only the pilot who limits it!

So I will leave you and complete my journey tomorrow which is not up to date since I should go to Chibougamau to fill up... and that it is not in the route!

Thank you all.
